Arturo Vazquez Navarrete is a Mexican landscape painter of international renown, who travels around the world with the Mexican traditions captured in his canvases. Vazquez Navarrete, the youngest son of artist Antonio Vazquez Parra, was born in Mexico City in 1953, and since he was 12 years old he has resided with his family in Cuernavaca, Morelos.

With the aid of his father, he made his first approach to painting, launching an artistic career when he was only eight years old. His father, an academician of art, was his main guide and teacher, and was able to transmit his techniques, but not his style. Thus, the young Arturo developed his own style.

Recognizing the innate art and talent of his children, the father encouraged him tirelessly and with his continued vigilance, practice and studies, Arturo was able to handle the colors. His impulse as an inborn artist soon became evident and vigorous strokes of the brush achieved some of the textures that though fully conceptualized, were very difficult to capture on his canvases. One day, during one of the daily family classes he was given a spatula, which he started handling skillfully, and with which he was able to get the textures that were almost impossible to achieve with the brush. He had discovered the ideal tool for his artistic expression.

Together with his father, Arturo started placing his work in exhibitions, including the Jardin del Arte in Mexico, and in Cuernavaca. Since 1973, he has been participating as an active founder of the Jardin del Arte in Cuernavaca. His exhibitions have been continuous.

Arturo's work is produced in a studio, where ideas take form; where the dreams give way to the multicolored reality of the impression, and whiteness is suddenly replaced by the color and the light that make up his paintings.
